Allosaurus


Allosaurus is a dinosaur that lived 155 to 150 million years ago during the late Jurassic period.

   Remarkable for:   The Allosaurus was a bipedal predator at the top of the food chain. It had a massive head on a short neck, a long tail and short forearms. It prayed on large herbivores, like the Stegosaurus, or even on other predators. It is a well known species, due to the abundance of fossils discovered.

   In popular culture:   The Allosaurus is often portrayed in movies and novels, one famous example being Conan Doyle's "The Lost World".
