Percheron
The Percheron is a breed of draft horse that originated in the Huisne river valley in northern France.
Remarkable for: The Percheron is the most famous and populous of all French draft breeds in the world today. From France they were introduced to Britain, Unites Stated and Canada, and even as far as the Falklands. They are still used extensively for draft work in forestry and farm work, but also for advertising and publicity. Sometimes they are ridden, and some have proven useful at show jumping and dressage. During World War I they were extensively used for transport, their strength, speed and stamina making them better suited for the task than mechanized vehicles.
